Of Montreal, “Famine Affair,” from the upcoming False Priest, courtesy of PRR, who probably installed evil keylogger software on my laptop while downloading it for me. (The file sounds a little funny — maybe the final version will be slightly better?)
I love Of Montreal. I walked down the aisle to their “Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games.” This song, by contrast, is not exactly wedding material: “I don’t want you anymore, I don’t love you anymore, go away, go away, go away, go away, you’re a bad thing, terrible thing…”
But the main reason I’m posting it is the strange lyric towards the end: “You don’t let me sleep, and when you do it’s just teeth-falling-out nightmares.” Huh?! There are more than one million hits for this concept, and hundreds of thousands more for related ones? The wife assures me it is well known that people have these sorts of dreams (allcapsornocaps, you were mentioned by name), but I only vaguely recall ever having heard of such a thing. So, humans: what the hell is wrong with you?
I’m coming back from the hinterlands of the interwebs to tell you that back before you kids got hitched and the wife was explaining to me that you were walking down the aisle to an Of Montreal song, I wanted to make the joke this would be a great choice, but the opportunity to make the joke was fleeting. UNTIL NOW.
